南房総国際交流協会では、多文化理解と、相互理解を図ることを目的として、文化交流サロンを開催しています。

11月開催は北カリフォルニアの日系コミュニティーで活躍する桜クィーン Kelly Yuka Walton と、桜プリンセス Michiko Marie Maggi さんがアメリカ日系人社会について説明したり、フラを教えてくれたりします。

二人が初めて訪れる南房総へ暖かく向え、生活は異なっても文化や血の繋がりがまだまだ残る日系社会について話し合いましょう!

The Minamiboso International Exchange Association works to promote multi-cultural and mutual understanding and by holding Cultural Exchange Salons.

For the November Cultural Exchange Salon we will welcome Cherry Blossom Queen Ms. Kelly Yuka Walton and Princess Michiko Marie Maggi who participate in Japanese-American community events throughout Northern California. They will introduce aspects of the Japanese-American community to us, as well as teach hula to participants.

This is the first time both are visiting Minamiboso, so let's give them a warm welcome and talk about the ties between us and the far away, yet very connected Japanese community abroad!

＜北カリフォルニア桜クィーンプログラムについて On the NCCBFQP＞
若い女性にリーダーシップ技術とコミュニティー内での繋がりを身につけさせる事を目的としています。それは、個人の力となる技術を身につけるだけではなく、コミュニティー全体の力となる事業です。毎年４月に、文化大使として北カリフォルニア日系人社会を代表する女性数人が選ばれます。彼女達は地域のイベントへ参加し、各地にある日系団体を訪れ、また長年繋がりを持ち続けているワシントン、ロサンゼルス、ハワイや日本も訪問します。創立１９６８年。

The Northern California Cherry Blossom Queen Program is dedicated to mentoring young women so they may develop the leadership skills and community connections necessary to promote not just stronger individuals, but also a stronger community. Every April, a new group of women is selected to become cultural ambassadors who will represent the Northern California Japanese-American community by assisting various local community events, organizations, and making goodwill trips to our long-standing connections in Washington, Los Angeles, Hawaii and Japan. Founded in 1968.
