はじめまして！キム・ミラーと申します。

私はアメリカのオハイオ州のコロンバス市で生まれ,育ちました。日本語と経済の専門課程で２０１１年にオハイオ州立大学を卒業しました。そのすぐあとにジェットプログラムに勤めることが決まり、１年間千葉県旭市で外国語指導助手（ALT）の仕事をしました。今年（２０１２年）の８月からは南房総市に勤務していて、国際交流員（CIR）の仕事をしています。

これまで日本での１年間を過ごしながら、外国で住むということや、日本での生活についてたくさん考え学びました。多くの人に国際的な考え方の大切さを知っていただけるよう、外国の文化に興味を持っていただけるお手伝いをしたいと思います。また、南房総市の外国人の日常生活がもっと楽になるように市のニュースレターとかイベントなどの翻訳をしたいと思います。その上で、翻訳などで南房総市への観光を応援したいと思います。

Hello. My name is Kim Miller.

I grew up in the United States, in Columbus, Ohio. In 2011, I graduated from The Ohio State University with a major in Japanese and a minor in Economics. Shortly thereafter, I received a position with the JET programme, and for the last year I have been working in Asahi city in northern Chiba as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT). As of this August (2012), I am living in Minamiboso city working as the city’s Coordinator for International Relations (CIR).

Over this past year I’ve learned a lot in general about living in a foreign country and living in Japan. I hope to promote an interest in other cultures so that other people can understand how important it is to have a global mind-set. I also hope to ease the daily lives of foreigners in the area by providing English translations for various things including the town newsletter, upcoming events, etc. In addition, I hope to promote tourism to the Minamiboso area through these translations.

I’m looking forward to working for the residents of Minamiboso city!
