先月の２０日はCIRの仕事を始めてからの最初のイベントで富浦元気倶楽部で行いました。文化交流サロンは南房総国際交流協会と一緒に企画しました。４５人がＣＩＲの私のプレゼンテーションと新しい３人のＡＬＴ（マイク・デバラ、ジェフ・ヘンリー、メーガン・リーサー）のプレゼンテーションを見に来てくださいました。少し緊張しましたが、できるだけ大勢の方々と文化交流をする機会があるのは大事ですのでたくさんの人に来ていただけるのはすばらしいことだと思います。プレゼンテーションでは自己紹介や出身州のことを紹介しました。その後、みんなが「Heads up, Seven up」というゲームのしかたを学びました。ゲームの名前は「頭を上げて、７人が前にいる」と言う意味です。このゲームは７人がステージに行って、ほかの人たちが目をつぶった時にその７人が一人ずつ人を選びます。終わったら、みんなが目をあけて、選ばれた人が誰に選ばれたかを当ててみます！ゲームを何回もした後は、軽い食事を食べながら交流会を行いました。
イベントは楽しかったです。次のイベントでみんなに会うのを楽しみにしております！


On the 20th of last month I held my first event since taking the CIR position in Minamiboso at the Tomiura Genki Club. The Cultural Exchange Salon was held in conjunction with the Minamiboso International Exchange Society. Forty-five people attended presentations from the CIR (myself) and the three new ALTs (Mike Devala, Jeff Henry, and Megan Reasor). I was a little nervous, but it is important to have opportunities for cultural exchange with as many people as possible, so it was really wonderful that so many people came. Each ALT gave a self-introduction and a description of their home town. Afterward, attendees learned how to play the game, “heads up seven up.” In this game, seven people stand at the front of the room, and while everyone else closes their eyes, they each select one person. Then the people who were selected have to guess who out of the seven at the front of the room picked them! Once we had played several rounds of the game, we conversed over a light dinner. The event was a lot of fun! I look forward to seeing you at the next event!
