皆さん、はじめまして！
８月から新しく南房総市の国際交流員として就任しました、ヒロイ・アリサ（広井亜里沙）と申します。
「国際交流員は普通外国人なのでは・・・」と思う方もいらっしゃると思いますが、私は両親が日本人であって、自分はカリフォルニア州サンフランシスコ市生まれ育ちである、日系二世のアメリカ人なのです。小１から高２までは土曜日だけ日本語補習校へ通い、日本と同じ教科書を使って勉強しましたが、実際長期間に渡って日本に住むのは今回が初めてです。その為、新しい日本生活は毎日が新鮮であり、びっくりしたり、感心したり、時々困ったり・・・とにかく、刺激的な日々を楽しく送っています。
そんな私ですが、将来はアメリカに戻り日本語教師になり、たくさんの学生に日本（そして南房総！）に対する感心を持ってもらえるように、日本在住中は自分の日本語や日本文化に関する知識を出来るだけ深める事を目標としています。同時に、南房総市の方々には独特な多様性の高い文化を持つサンフランシスコや日系アメリカ人コミュニティーをどんどん紹介していきたいと思います。

Hi there!
My name is Arisa Hiroi, and I am the new Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) for Minamiboso City. I started this August, and I’m happy to be here!
Many of you may be thinking, “but I thought CIRs are usually foreigners...” My parents are from Japan, but I was born and raised in San Francisco, California, U.S.A. --- making me a second-generation Japanese-American. From elementary to high school, I went to Japanese language school on Saturdays, studying from the same textbooks as students in Japan. Nevertheless, this is my first time actually living in Japan for an extended period. Thus, everyday of my new life in Japan is a novelty. Things amaze me, impress me, sometimes trouble me... but all in all, I am enjoying myself as I lead a very eventful life.
My ultimate goal is to return to the U.S. and teach Japanese as a foreign language, fostering an interest towards Japan (and Minamiboso!) amongst students. Thus, I aim to absorb as much knowledge about the Japanese language and culture during my stay here. At the same time, I would also like to share the distinctly diverse culture of San Francisco and the Japanese-American community with the people I meet in Minamiboso City.
